To Drop-Off In the Morning:

1.    When you pull into the Blue Zone please pull forward as far as possible before stopping. This allows more cars into the Blue Zone and keeps the line moving safely.

2.    Wait until you are in the top half of the (large) Blue Zone before letting your children out of the car.  If your child starts to get out at the bottom of the Blue Zone, you can't pull forward when the cars in front of you move up.  This leads to the top of the Blue Zone being empty while frustrated drivers wait behind you.

2.    Tell your child when it is safe for them to open the door and get out. Remember, parents may not get out of the car in the Blue Zone.  Kids should have their backpacks, lunches, etc. within reach and ready to go.

3.    Children MUST use the door on the sidewalk side of the car, NEVER the traffic side.
 
4.    After your child gets out of the car, pull forward and exit the Blue Zone.

5.    NEVER back up to pull around the car in front, especially in the small Blue Zone where you might back into the crosswalk.   

6.    Please don't wait in the Blue Zone or "No Parking" area to watch your child walk in to school.  It  forces other parents who are waiting to drop off their children to pull around you into oncoming traffic, making drop-off less safe and more frustrating for everyone.  (Remind your children to go directly from your car to the school door.)

7.    If you arrive after 8:35, you must park your car (legally) and walk your child into school (through the main door.)
To Pick-Up in the Afternoon: 

1.     Plan to arrive at 3:05 (or 12:35). The Blue Zone works best when cars arrive after the students are dismissed. No child is ever left alone after school. If you are late, your child will go to the office with a staff person to wait for you.

2.    The “Live Parking Only” area on the westbound side of Pine St. is restricted to cars waiting to enter the large Blue Zone in the afternoon. Please be considerate of our neighbors – don’t block driveways while you wait.  Please be considerate of other parents - don't "jump" the line!

3.    There is no "Live Parking" area on the eastbound side of Pine Street (prior to the small Blue Zone.)  If there is no room to enter the small Blue Zone you cannot wait; please continue down Pine Street and either park legally, get into the line for the large Blue Zone, or go around the block.

2.     When you arrive in the Blue Zone, pull in behind the last car in line, and be ready to move forward as the line moves. 

3.     Children wait at the top of the large Blue Zone with Burr staff. Your child will be sent to you when your car reaches the top half of the Blue Zone. Do not get out of your car – your child will come to you.  (If you use the small Blue Zone across the street, your child will be sent to the crosswalk.) 

4.    Once your child is in the car, please pull forward and exit the Blue Zone.  If you are waiting for another child, continue to pull forward as far as possible.
