There are many styles of martial arts.  Seibukan Shorin-ryu, the style taught at BKA has a long history of excellence and a deep knowledge base.  Students have their rank certified in Okinawa, Japan by Zenpo Shimabukuro, 10th degree black belt and the head of the Seibukan Shorin-ryu style.

Burnside Karate Academy is dedicated to the teaching and preserving authentic Okinawan karate.  The style we practice has been handed down for generations and has its roots in true mortal combat.
