Dx Picnic

posted 21 Mar 2012 01:31 by Ian Woodbridge

Hope everyone who made it along to the DX picnic this weekend enjoyed themselves. The use of a variety of radio gear, a great operating situation and some good contacts made it an interesting weekend all round for me.

Congratulations to Jim, Stephen and Adam on passing the exam at the end of this weekend's foundation license course and commiserations to John and Jack. Thank you to all the club members who helped over the weekend both at the village hall and on air. This includes those who happened to be monitoring 2M and called in to find out what was going on.

6 Meter Contest

posted 23 Jun 2011 05:47 by Ian Woodbridge

The club took part in the 6Meter contest over the weekend. Thank you to the new site's owner for the use of the field and facilities. Operating was considerably enhanced by Andy's new horse box and generator so a big thank you to him as well. Pictures of the station are available on the photos page. A good time was had by all attending and hopefully the hard work put in both on and off the site by club members will pay dividends. Now we just need the results!

Club Contest

We have arranged for a club contest on the 14th November which is a Sunday between the hours of 13.00 and 15.00. The full rules are available on the 'club contest' page, please do look at these. There will be a trophy for the winning station and certificates for the runner ups. The rules are such that no one  should be disadvantaged by licence type. So no excuse for not having a go.
