Congratulations to our high school wrestling team creating history and going to WIAA Team State ! It takes a Village. We are very proud of what this team has done, it all starts with these individuals willing to pay the price, the parents willing to allow it, the parents to trust coaches, and the parents to push the kids, we led the horses to water and man are they drinking. Burlington has had a tradition of very good teams and a strong following of the sport that Coach Don Moe instilled in his wrestlers. Many of those kids are grown adults with kids making our kids club successful. We are so proud of the inspiration and leadership Jerry Barr has given us and our kids. I am proud of our HS coaches for continuing to take these kids to the next step and keeping them fresh and hungry. None of this would be possible without a complete buy in top to bottom. WE ARE BURLINGTON WRESTLING!
Congratulations to the Burlington Middle School Wrestling Team for the 2012 Parkland Conference Championship. Burlington won with 128.5 points over a field of 15 teams. Congratulations to the Burlington High School Wrestling Team for the 2011 Mid States Championship. Burlington won with 193.5 points over a field of 42 teams. Brody Fitzpatrick and Brandt Gavin were both 5-0 winning the championships. Congratulations to those that competed at Pre Season Nationals in Iowa October 29, 2011. Josh Bird and Brody Fitzpatrick were both All-Americans finishing in the Top 6. Brody went 7-2 and finish 5th with a Pin in the 5th and 6th Place Match. Josh Went 3-1 losing in the Championship 2-0 to the returning national champion. Complete results can be found on www.trackwrestling.com.
  Congratulations to those that competed at Freestyle and Greco State. Josh Bird, Derek Gill and Ben Hornickle all were State Champions in Freestyle and Josh and Ben were State Champions in Greco Roman, while Derek and an impressive 2nd place finish losing a controversial match to returning champion Ryan McQuade. Congratulations to Burlington State Qualifiers and to our place winners. Josh Bird, Ben Hornickle and Hegeman Tiedt made it to the finals but come up short. Other place winners were Nate Crayton 3rd, Max Travis 6th, and Benjamin Kumprey 6th Please see the youth results for full details. Congratulations to Derek Gill and Willy Ehlen for a well wrestled WIAA State Tournament.
