Stayalivepepi are Rhys Thomas, Tony Way, Steve Burge & Glynne Wiley. They formed in 1996 after meeting in the media studies course they were attending at sixth form college in their town of Wickford, Essex. This union consisted of them all meeting up on their days off and filming bizarre and funny sketches on the media studies camcorder which they had conviscated. There were no plans of a career in comedy for any of them; they weren't even that sure if they were any good. It was all just to eleviate the boredham of living in Wickford. That was until Rhys started work as a runner on 'Shooting Stars' as a part of his work experience. In a moment of unrivaled insanity Rhys declared to Bob Mortimer and Charlie Higson that "me and my friends are a comedy group-we're quite good", and handed them a copy of their sketches. One of these sketches was the 'Danson plays football' sketch. Bob Mortimer thought it was one of the funniest things he's ever seen and immediately asked if they could re-shoot it for 'It's Ulrika'.
Stayalivepepi became notorious for their live acts; they were either sublime, outstanding and hilarious, or they were dreadfull, shambolic and offensive to every member of the human race; resulting in them being banned for life from certain comedy venues. But it was commented that it didn't matter if they were good or bad, you were alway going to remember them.
Although Stayalivepepi don't exist as a living entity anymore. They live on as a combined force (All four members were recently involved in the sketch show Blunder) and all of them are still the closest of friends.
