Here's what it looked like 1.5 weeks later.
Having stuffed a big vinegar bottle and a lot of other things in the space in front of the pipes, I was unaware that the water pipes were leaking. Just lucky I moved that vinegar bottle and noticed the moisture. Started doing some detective work. Turnoff valves were on the wrong side of the leaks, so they did not help. It took a while to diagnose the trouble and fix it--I figured out how to rotate the pipes so that they were tighter. Then I had to put in a fan to dry out the cupboard here and another one in the basement. Ran the kitchen one for a week and the one in basement is still running. Cardboard collars on the pipes are there to detect moisture. So far, they're dry. Whew! Well, the kitchen can't be new forever, can it? The man from Great Woods says that if this had been a particle board cupboard, it would have had to be entirely remade because the base would have swollen at the bottom. Glad it didn't! He advised to begin a regimen of bleach water to prevent any mildew. Wish we had given this whole area and the area under the dishwasher a number of coats of the floor finish while we had a brush out and in use. Gonna do that after this dries out, but the horse is out of the barn, sigh.
