Presenter: Eric Ray
Programming with F# As the .NET framework has matured we've seen traditionally imperative object-oriented languages such as C# and VB.Net receive enhancements straight out of the functional programming world. With the release of .Net 4.0 and VS 2010, this trend took a huge leap forward in the formal addition of F# 2.0, a functional object oriented language, to the .NET suite of languages.
Come see what this new language has to offer as we explore some of its basic and intermediate concepts.

OpenRasta: Building RESTful Applications the Easy Way
OpenRasta is an open source framework for building RESTful applications on the .NET platform. Unlike some of the other alternatives, OpenRasta was specifically designed to be resource-oriented. It provides a clean separation of concerns by dividing the framework into three core concepts [resources, handlers, and codecs], which enables the handling and rendering of resources to be decoupled. By leveraging the Open Closed Principle and dependency injection, the framework is also very extensible and testable. This session will provide a thorough overview of the major features in OpenRasta. You don't have to be a REST expert to benefit from this presentation, but it would help to already be familiar with the basics. The focus will be on how to leverage OpenRasta rather than discussing what REST is all about, but there will be some review of the major RESTful principles along the way. If you are interested in writing RESTful applications on the .NET platform, this presentation is for you! Don't miss out on an opportunity to see how easy REST can really be!
