Awards 1st Prize: $2000 2nd Prize: $1000 Additionally, the winners of EDC 2009 will be entitled to a full and expedited review by Boston University's New Ventures Division at the Office of Technology Development. This review will evaluate the prospects of relevant licensing and venture opportunities for the winning team. The winners will also benefit from the vast network of New Ventures as well as 20 hours of legal consulting from Foley and Lardner to meet relevant people and take their business idea to next level. The contest is comprised of three rounds: Phase I: Initial Entry In Phase I participants will submit high level documentation describing their idea and it's place in the market. These summaries will be evaluated and returned to provide feedback to the participants early in the process. Guidelines for documents to be submitted are available in the GuidelinesforPhaseI.pdf, attached at the bottom of this page. Phase II: Report Evaluation The document submitted in Phase II will be a significantly expanded version of the one submitted in Phase I. This submission should include information describing, for example:
Phase III: Presentation Top four teams from the earlier rounds will be selected for the Finals to be held on April 23rd. The presentations will be 8 minutes each followed by 3-5 minutes of Q & A. The judges will consist of business leaders, technical consultants and venture capitalists from Greater Boston area. The contest winners will be announced and presented with awards at the end of the Finals. |
