TANYA, Interventionist
Tanya completed a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences. One day, she happened to come across an ad for a mother who needed someone to work with her child one-on-one. This woman had great knowledge in dealing with her special needs child. From here Tanya attended many conferences and trained with several psychologists. Throughout the years, she has worked closely with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and art therapists to provide programs that were individualized to the needs of each wonderful child. Many years later, she feels that she has had the amazing opportunity to work with the most incredible children. Tanya always knew that she wanted to work with children and help them grow. Ever since she was young, she always had a connection with kids. She relates to children and communicates with them, understanding their needs, and addressing those needs. One success story, among countless success stories of hers, is the story of one preschool aged child... The child went from being non-verbal to becoming a self-sufficient student. Tanya has worked with dozens of children who impacted her world as much as she hopes to have impacted theirs. In her eyes, there is nothing better to her than to see a child succeed.
LUCIE, Interventionist
Lucie completed her bachelor’s in Education Sciences with a major in Special Education. Having worked with children in different settings for over a decade, she considers that education is the door to independence. An education that emphasizes their potential, while respecting their individuality. Her work has enabled her to fine tune, apply and evaluate her educational interventions, allowing her to solve educational problems that she encounters. As an interventionist, her work focuses on children’s cognitive, affective, motor and behavioural development. Lucie’s approach is to respect each child’s ability level, and their motivation. She is patient and disciplined. Her work with us demands of her to be authentic; to be real with each child. Her educational and re-educational methods with children are creative, imaginative, playful, and sometimes theatrical. She invents with the children, based on their interests. Lucie encourages conversation, spontaneous expression, games, and laughter. This is how children get along well with her. Children are the sun in her sky.MCKENZIE, Interventionist
Mckenzie is specialized in recreation therapy. One of her passions is working with children. Her goal will always be to make a difference. Her recreation therapy career path gives her a unique opportunity to work with children, and make a difference in their lives. With her enjoyment of water, she worked as a swimming instructor and lifeguard-counselor at a camp for children with special needs. Both taught her the importance of children, and the love of not only teaching them, but learning from them. Mckenzie believes that all children are special. All children are different. This is what she loves most about them. Different children love her for different reasons as each situation is unique. She adapts her approach to each child, to make the child feel comfortable. Children naturally come up to her. They enjoy Mckenzie for her warmth, smile, and because she gets right in there to play with them.To join our growing team or for more information about our services, send your cv or contact us
