With a BS degree in forest science and an MS in forest ecology from the University of Montana, plus 35 years working as a research ecologist in the forests & wetlands of the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, & Rocky Mountains -- I have honed an empathy for the subjects I now capture through the lens of my digital CANON SLR cameras and lenses.
I have spent the last five years photo touring many areas of the western United States including the southwest states, Black Hills, Yellowstone, Tetons, and Washington plus foreign tours to British Columbia, Alberta, Northwest Territories, Galapagos Islands, Banks Island in the Arctic Ocean, and Costa Rica. My favorite stomping grounds continues to be around my home in northeast & central Washington.
I started doing art shows in 2011.
I photographed the Falkland and South Georgia Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula off the Ushuaia, a converted 285 foot, ice-reinforced, research ship during the month of November, 2011. https://www.photosafaris.com/photography-trips-2011/antarctica-south-georgia-falklands-photo-tour/ Look for pictures and tall tales of penguins, seals, landscapes, ice, and hurricanes in February (I returned home to a broken PC and just ordered a new one).

I'm a 99% er. Its tme for a change! Even the Pope agrees that greed has taken over the world's politics, military & big business.

Me and my wife (I'm on the right) enjoying an Orcha watching cruise near the Orchas Islands (2010) (thanks Marta).
Pods K and L were mixed together (about 150 killer whales) but unfortunately they were more interested in traveling (and potential sex) and none were playing or breaching. We had a great time anyway (us as well as the whales).
My best seller in 16"x "48 canvas (should I try 20"x 60"?). Two river otters circling my photo canoe on the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming,
Another best seller in 16"x36" canvas. Two courting sandhill cranes in display on Banks Island, Arctic Ocean, Northwest Territories, Canada
Another top seller in 16"x20" or 16"x 24" canvas and framed prints. American kestrel looking at a broken nail at the Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle, Washington, USA
