NBN maps for Bucks plants

Records of Vascular Plants (including data supplied by the BSBI county recorder, Roy Maycock, as well as many individual members of the rare plant recording group) have recently been supplied by BMERC to the National Biodiversity Network (NBN). This means that you can see the distribution of any Bucks plant species by searching for it on the NBN Gateway, and then setting the map to Buckinghamshire. Here are some examples:

At Wendover Library meeting room.
 
The meeting will be led by Roy Maycock and will include:
  • Reports from field meetings in 2009
  • Other reports and records
  • Species that have no recent records – targets for next year!
  • Field meetings for 2010 – initial ideas
  • Time for chat over tea/coffee

All welcome, please contact Laura Fennel at BMERC if you are able to attend the meeting. There will be time to look at plant specimens and/or photos during the evening, e.g. to confirm identifications of rare species – if you have digital photos that you'd like to show please let BMERC know in advance.

 

The current Rare Plant List for Bucks and updated distribution maps will be available at the meeting. If you are not able to attend and would like a copy of these, please ask.
