Pet Reunited With Owner Thanks To Bucks CART and a Home Again Microchip
Feb. 20, 2009 To whom it may concern,
Thank God for my friend "Ceil Dixon" and BCART (Bucks County Animal Response Team, My dog was microchipped at one of their events in Nov. 08, with a Home Again microchip. I am so glad she invited me, otherwise today, only 3 months later, I might not have my dog Buster.
Let me start from the beginning. I had inquired several times with my own vet about microchipping my dog, but due to the cost I kept putting it off. Then she invited me to this event, the cost was so reasonable. They were organized and made it so easy. I couldn't pass up the opportunity.
I really never thought I would need it because I have a fenced in yard. I didn't think Buster would ever get out but, better safe than sorry. So one day last week someone left my side fence open and my dog got out…... he traveled around the streets for several hours. Luckily for me someone in my own neighborhood from 'Wet Nose Rescue" , a local rescue group, realized the dog was lost and was able to get him to come to them. Being a rescue they did the right thing and took him to their vet to be checked out. Then just like that they scanned him, all my information was there I was contacted immediately. They next day Home Again even called to make sure he was returned.
If you ever owned a pet you know what it would feel like if something were to happen to them. Even worse you might not have them there to greet you at the end of a hard day. Well thanks to everyone listed above I fortunately won't have to know what it feels like either. I don't even have the words to describe how I felt or to thank them properly. I highly recommend you check your local organizations for a listing of events like this, and get this done so your animal won't be one of the unfortunate one that doesn't get to come home again.
