The Bow Sim Mark Tai Chi Arts Association was founded in 1995 because:

Master Mark had been teaching Wushu for more than 20 years and founded CWRI 20 years earlier here in the US. She had students all over the US, Asia and Europe. She was and is well known internationally in Wushu circles. Although she was the first to use the appellation "Wushu" for a school, there are fewer people who know her, than people who know the Chinese Wushu Research Institute.

Master Mark, in those previous 20 years, had written and published a series of Wushu books, posters and instructional videomedia. The items on Tai Chi Chuan have grown into an independent, standardized system of instruction, suitable for students of different ages, objectives and needs. The system has proven very effective in practice.

Most of Master Mark's students learned Tai Chi Chuan. Some of them having their own schools. Most of all, it was founded to promote the connection among them, to help advance the arts, and to let these arts reach more people. Her students from different places, after years of study and planning, arrived at a common understanding - that there was a need to form an Association named after Master Mark. It is believed that in so doing they could promote further recognition and development. It gave further  evidence that Master Mark and the CWRI was and still is a notalbe leader in the efforts to propagate Chinese wushu. The Tai Chi Arts Association - PA exist as an affiliate organization to support this ongoing great effort.of Grandmaster Mark.
