FEATURED ARTICLE:  Bridging + Tendertoes = New Scouts

     Bridging is just around the corner and we should be getting prepared to welcome a whole group of new scouts into our troop.  We should all work hard to make this an extra-special ceremony for the younger scouts, as this marks their beginning on the Boy Scout Trail.  It is our job to serve as an example for younger scouts, not only because it is respectful, but also because the whole pack is going to be there looking up to us!  With that said, please make sure that you are dressed in full uniform, neckerchief and all, standing at attention, and quiet.
     Although the bridging ceremony is important, after it comes Tendertoes!  We will be teaching the new patrol scout skills involving fire, knives, knots, and first aid.  If you are a Star Scout, you should be excited, for this is a requirement for Life!  If you are working on your Communications Merit Badge, this is an opprutunity to get requirement 6 done fast and easy.
     Remember, when the new scouts bridge, they are going to need help learning to get around.  They are going to come to you to get assistance, and you need to be ready to help.  Do not turn them away, or give them bad advice, but remember to work as if working for the Lord, and do everything you can to assist them.  New scouts always need help with setting up tents or building fires.  Remember to be a servant and serve them with your all.
