Immigration is a reality that we prefer to minimalise. One especially avoids thinking about the faces of those people who are ready to abandon all, just to try their luck in this consumering Eden. As philanthropists, Christiane Schmidt and Didier Guillain develop a work that dares to face this problem. Their social engagement is transformed into films or performances, and is the result of their meetings with illegals, politicians or activists. In their case journalism becomes an 'art of investigation'. Grenze is fiction. Funny but also powerful. By using the classical slapstick style, Christiane and Didier bring us into an absurd universe. The scenario is simple and reminds us of a childrenÕs fairy tale but one thatÕs playing in the twisted worlds of Lewis Carroll. About ten persons, lost in the middle of the snow, face a ridiculous border. To cross it, they are condemned to disguise themselves ... You may know him as a DJ, responsible for the last (and best) in the Bugged Out series of mix albums and the architect of many a night of musical abandon on dance floors across the world. Maybe you may know him as a remix genius, melting down musical bullion by pals Franz Ferdinand, Death From Above 1979 and Mystery Jets (among others) and refashioning it into acid-infected opuses of disco destruction. Or perhaps you’ve heard of him as a promoter, thanks to his long-running and truly ground-breaking London-based alternative club night, Trash. For more than nine years, Erol has foreseen and helped to shape the UK’s alternative zeitgeist while refusing the spotlight and superficiality of the celebrity circuit.

Don't miss out Delta's first solo exhibition in Belgium.Boris Tellegen (NL) is a visual artist who works primarily in the field of graffiti painting. In his visually spectacular work, Delta significantly transforms both the traditional presentation mode of visual art, as well as the genre of graffiti painting itself. He introduces an alien and idiosyncratic aesthetic into graffiti painting that escapes the common logo-like word IDs that make up most of graffiti production. He significantly transforms the domain of visual art by introducing an abstract and highly architectural style of painting, in a literal sense, to the street, and to the often illicit context of graffiti and street painting. The exhibition is to be seen from 15/12/06 till 21/01/07.

Steel tries to capture what lies beneath the surface, the core of the subject. In other words; he’s diggin under the skin, he’s soulsearching. His depiction and technique are in that way a translation, a reflection. Transparant and fragile layers of vibrant colors in contrast with an endless palette of whites. Light and skintones are an endless inspiration, shadows in blue, green and purple. The display of colors in Steel’s work is huge and varied but never fragmentated, always a symbiose of strong and soft, warm and cold.
The human form in all it’s beauty and complexity stays an endless inspiration; the tantalizing sensitivity of light reflecting in a beautifully curved eye, the raw and lushious look of a chocolate brown skin, the absent stare of a boy between child and adult… Steel’s motivation and motives are honest and pure; no cheap thrills, no crowdpleasing effects, no easy way out….
