Jose won the Third Annual Bruin Speech Contest: Bruin Elevation of Education with his speech "The New Future of the United States of America." The speech contest asked speakers to voice and share their visions of a better educational system. Our Bruin Toastmasters representative Jose Angel Manaiza, Jr. won first place by inspiring the audience to do three simple things: To raise awareness of the importance of after school tutoring in Math and Science, to tutor children as early as possible, and to commit to tutor one child for at least an hour a week to foster his or her academic success. Jose showed that this will help create future Mathematicians and scientists who may cure diseases such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, and others. Jose's experiencewith the Bruin Toastmasters led him to found "A Plus Tutor", a tutoring service program that helps students of all walks of lives achieve academic excellence: http://www.aplustutor.com. We congratulate Jose on winning the speech contest and wish him success with his goal to help create a better educational system.

Agenda Template

The Toastmaster is responsible for bringing copies of the agenda to the meeting, so I have attached the agenda template. 

Toastmasters can edit the agenda template and print enough copies for the meeting. 

Changing Meeting Rooms

Please remember that this Thursday 11/10, we will be meeting in Ackerman 3517

Our reservation in Kerkhoff is coming to an end and it's time for us to find a new home. At the end of the meeting on Thursday, we will vote on our future home.

We're very proud of our own Jose Angel Manaiza and Analyne for representing Bruin Toastmasters at the area contest. Jose was victorious at the Evaluation contest and will advance to the area contest! Click on the below link for a photo of Jose with his award!
