With twenty years of writing and editing experience, Barbara R Saunders specializes in business communications with content in science and technology. She began her career as a production editor with Sybase, an early developer of relational database management software. Barbara has since filled diverse communications-oriented positions including personal fitness education, business development with a veterinary hospital, and recruiter for a specialized firm that combined technology development with litigation consulting. Her recent academic title, Ivan Pavlov: Exploring the Mysteries of Behavior from Enslow Publishers, was recognized on Science Books & Film’s 2007 list of Best Books for Junior High and Young Adults. Barbara is a graduate of Stanford University, where she studied psychology and took a yearlong series of courses on values, technology, science, and society. Since 2007, Barbara has worked as a consulting writer and editor with Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E), helping to develop internal and external collateral and documentation. Her projects there have included: preparation of a successful competitive proposal that brought the ENERGY STAR® demonstration house to San Francisco’s Union Square in the 2008; contributions to both an internal style guide for the customer energy efficiency outreach group and a style manual for partners; case studies, fact sheets, direct mail postcards, and other pieces pertaining to PG&E’s conservation programs; and materials for targeted campaigns to and within schools, health care facilities, and hospitality companies to name a few. |
