WHAT My son's first visit to the dentist.what could have been uncomfortable and scary became jaw-dropping fun! HOW Aloha Pediatric Dentistry understand that their patient is not only the child going to their first dental appointment, but also the parents. They send extensive instructions to prepare the parent and the child for the first visit. The instructions are playful, branded and sealed with a superhero sticker on the envelope. When you get to the office, the fun starts the minute you walk in. The entry room is decorated in a Hawaiian theme, completely kid-friendly, bright and fun. Technicians are wearing Hawaiian Aloha shirts and something in the air tells you that you are in for a good time. Each part of the visit is turned into an adventure, making requests to my toddler feel like an exciting challenge vs. a mandate. Stickers, games, wall decorations, sunglasses, creative names for dental tools, huge smiles from the staff, all wrapped-up with a framed photo of my son to ensure we won't forget this office or this experience for many years to come. WHY How can Old Navy memorialize "firsts?" What can we do to make customers' first engagement with the brand memorable.especially for kids? How can we build a relationship with Jennie and Mike when they purchase their child's first onesie, first swim suit, first pair of sunglasses? How can we link the Jennies' shopping for maternity (some who may be new to the Brand) with our Kids line to create loyalty that lasts for years to come? How can we cue parents that bringing their kids into an Old Navy can be a fabulous event (and how do we ensure their trips are, indeed, fabulous)? How do we make Jennie and Mike feel connected to a specific Old Navy store: "That's *my* Old Navy!," just as I now feel connected to that dental office. Maya
