Please remember that Cindy and Sharon are using the grade book portion of the Parent Portal and you can check your child’s progress online.  You should have received a user name and password in the mail.  We can see who is and is not using it and there are very few parents doing so.  If you don’t know your id/password, please e-mail Angela and she can send it to you.  angela.parsons@jefferson.kyschools.us

Working from the Springboard text in class.
Due Wednesday:bring in a photo copy or print out of a poem you like.

Only students who bring in a copy of poetry to class Wednesday will be allowed on the computers.

Thursday: you will have a block schedule of langyage arts to work on your own poetry.

8th Grade Language Arts

We are working on poetry.

Due Tuesday: rough draft of your 21 line poem for peer reading.
Be sure to use poetry devices and show your poem has a purpose.
Those who do not bring a rough draft will be doing seat work and will not be allowed on the computers Wednesday.

Wednesday: we will be working in the computer lab on our poetry piece, preparing for the final draft.

Only students who brought their poetry to class Tuesday will be allowed on the computers.

Due Thursday 1st period before departing for Blackacre: final copy of your poem. (you can submit this at the end of class Wednesday if finished)

 

8th Grade math

Work on your cereal box project.

Project is due Wednesday at the end of class – or  Thursday 1st period before departing for Blackacre.

 

8th Grade Science

Thursday: we will be going to Blackacre.

Be sure to dress for the weather.

Bring a sack lunch and something to drink.
