SILENT AUCTION!
Our annual Brown School Library Silent Auction will be held at Open House on September 17th. Our goal is to raise $7500 to purchase badly needed books and other educational resources for our students.
This year our school-wide instructional focus for reading is “reading for information and content”, in other words helping students learn how to make sense of non-fiction materials. To support this focus we will be purchasing a wide variety of non-fiction books at the earliest reading levels. We will of course be purchasing a wide variety of non-fiction for older readers that support classroom instruction and our curriculum. At the same time we hope to buy a variety of fiction titles. This auction benefits all grade levels at our K-12 school.
We would appreciate it if you would donate an item or gift certificate. The item you donate will surely make someone very happy and will truly benefit our students. Ask your friends to donate as well! Items that have been popular in the past are: artworks; gift certificates for restaurants, groceries and a wide variety of services; hand crafted items; antiques; sports gear and memorabilia; jewelry; and much more. We also have very special homemade baked items in the auction as well. You could donate a fancy dinner for two at your house, or a swimming party.
You may drop off your item in the library anytime before the 17th. Thanks in advance for your support. Our kids will truly appreciate it.
