7th GRADE
Language Arts
read 30 minutes nightly
 
Students are working on 2 draft writing pieces.
Allana will be expecting to see draft copies on both pieces, Friday to check for progress.
1. the document needs a title to address the following: 
     *Classroom Expectations, including reading and writing
     *Rules
     *Consequences
You may use graphics and word art  to make the document more visually pleasing.
You must clearly explain what the expectations are in Allana's class, the rules you feel will help accomplish this, and the consequences incurred if the rules are not followed.
 
2. 10 Things Allana Should Know About Me
     * this should address your personality
     * be sure to give details and examples (meaning more than 1 example)
     * focus on what really matters to you, personally
 
Free Rice- students should always be working on this site.
be sure to record at least 5 vocabulary words in your composition notebook each time you participate.
 
All Math Classes

 

7th graders will begin their study of rational numbers,

primarily, INTEGERS

 

Homework for the week:

Complete the Math Journal each day

Math Journal - Composition notebook set-up

Left side - is for student work and reflection responses

Right side - is for teacher instruction and notes

Complete L-7and L-9 for Friday August 21st (L-9 can be a 2nd copy of you paper you will be submitting)

 

AND

Describe yourself, activities you enjoy, your friends, pets, hobbies, etc. 

Be sure to include as many "math terms" that you can think of as you write.

 

Remember, this is what you did in groups in class.

Individually, please word process, 12 font, single space. 

Be sure to have someone proofread before you finish.

Add a graphic or clip art that reflects you!!!

Paper due Friday August 21st at start of class.

 

Science:

All class work / homework is recorded on the white board in the classroom – be sure to check it daily for updates!
 
Thursday August 20 - Safety Quiz
Friday August 21 - bring in magazine pictures of science concepts for composition notebook
 
Social Studies:

I am in need of volunteers to cover our Social Studies notebooks with contact paper. If you can help for any amount of time today or tomorrow please let me know (or just show up!).

Also, since our supply list was taken from the Ennisbrook list, boxes of tissues were left off. We definitely need them. Please send at least one box to your child's 3rd period class. If it is a problem now, just send them later in the year.

"How Big is a MILLION?"
bring materials to class Thursday to help figure out how big a million is!

*return the field trip permission slip for BLACKACRE as soon as possible. The first trip will be September 3.
Integrated Science textbook - Karen only has a classroom set, thus the books do not go home.
