Jeffrey M. Rapport (below) created the "schools for career development" when he opened one in Queens and then in the Bronx, serving first as their director and then as the principal.   Mr. Rapport sought to create an educational and vocational environment that served students with learning disabilities and developmental disabilities.  Daughter's of Jacob, the first worksite for the Bronx School for Career Development, was opened in 1989.  Jeffrey M. Rapport continued to serve as the principal for the school until 1998 .  The school was renamed to honor Mr. Rapport after he passed away in 2002.

Rapport School.  We are located at 470 Jackson Avenue, Bronx, NY 10455.  On these pages you will see each of our sites, our supervising teachers and our students and you will be able to see what our program has to offer.  Feel free to email me with your questions and your opinions on this site.  Thank you for checking us out!

The Work Force Academy and the Aim for Greatness Academy
If you are between the ages of 13 and 17, you will be a part of either the Aim for Greatness Academy or the Work Force Academy .  These academies offer academic and vocational training that will help to transition you to one of our 14 full time worksites.  Each academy has several classes that work in the community part time and the Work Force Academy has two in-house, full time work programs.

The Work Study Program
Students are referred to the full time Work Study Program at the age of 17.6.  Students are assessed on their interests before they are sent to one of 13 full time worksites.  Two of our worksites, Manhattan College and Kings Harbor, can accommodate students who are not yet travel trained. The teachers at those sites work in conjunction with the amazing District 75 Travel Training Program to get them trained and off of the school bus as soon as possible.
