Thank you for being such a wonderful class to teach this year.  I wish you all the best on your final exams and in your Senior Year!

As soon as I have your exams graded, I will post the grades in PowerSchool.

A modified schedule this week:
  • Monday: We will review the document activity done in class Friday, do an overview of the major themes of the post-Vietnam era to present and watch the Presidents DVD for Nixon & Ford
  • Tuesday: Presidents DVD: Carter to G. W. Bush and handout in class
  • Wednesday (B) / Thursday (C): Quiz on Presidents DVD handout; Current Events Activity
  • Thursday (C-second half) / Friday (B): Review of documents, maps and charts for 1877-present (semester review)

May 9 - 13 Announcements

Very Important Reminders for this weekend / Monday:
  • Your Oral History paper is due this weekend (no later than 7:50 Monday morning).  As discussed in class, this was assigned two months ago and no exceptions will be granted for late papers.
  • Please complete the brief film analysis survey between now and Monday (see documents page)
  • Have your Civil Rights timeline complete and ready for class on Monday
  • We meet in Lab 213 Monday
The focus this week will be the Civil Rights movement (quiz Tuesday), Vietnam Era and the overall significance of the 1960s.  The unit concludes with the take-home test due on Friday.

  • Monday 5/9 - Oral History Paper due by 7:50 AM

May 2 - 6 Announcements

This week, we will begin our unit on the 1960s and Vietnam War.  There will be a study of the film Thirteen Days about the Cuban Missile Crisis.  This unit will conclude with a take-home test, due Friday, May 13th.  The test and answer form will be distributed this Friday, May 6th.

Also, don't forget that the oral history paper is due no later than Monday, May 9th at 7:50 AM online.  This assignment was given almost two months ago; therefore, there will be no extensions or changes to the due date.

April 11 - 15 Announcements

This week will be dedicated to the "Early Cold War."  This material comes from Chapter 26 in your textbook.  Friday's test will only be based on this one chapter and a short amount of material.  Use it as an opportunity to do well.

We will also select group presentation topics for next week's presentations.  More details will be discussed in class on Monday.

  • Friday 4/15 - Ch. 26 Test (and make-up opportunity for the Government Leaders Quiz)
  • Monday 4/18 & Tuesday 4/19 - Presentations (Ch. 27 material) - presentation must be uploaded to class wiki prior to presentation date - NO EXCEPTIONS (counts as a quiz grade)
  • Monday 5/9 - Oral History Papers due by 7:50 AM (counts as two test grades)

This week, we will conclude our discussion of World War II.  Please remember that you must make at least one contribution to the Google Docs study guide before 7:50 AM on Tuesday. 

Later in the week, I will post our next unit schedule online.  Also, don't forget about our upcoming Oral History and Government Leaders due dates.
