Bella's Sightings: What's the Latest? 20 Sep: Bella sighting 3 days ago off Monterey Rd, between Bailey Rd and Metcalf Rd!
She was seen by a man while she was apparently chasing birds in the
same general area where she has been seen previously. Click on Terri's email to learn the latest details. 28 August: Unconfirmed sighting within the last 2 weeks of August at the Parkway Fishing Place Percolation ponds near Metcalf and Coyote Creek, where it is closest to Monterey Road.
This makes sense that she is still staying where she has been safe, has
apparently continued to find food, shelter, and water for the last
month. We are seeking individuals who are willing to spend 1/2 hr or
hour putting up some new fliers in this area and just generally being
on the lookout for any sight of Bella. Again, we are trying not to
scare her out of the area but just get another sighting of her. Terri
& Steve have learned of a new type of trap that has worked around
the country with coyotes and other animals. So there is a new tactic
for when there are consistent, confirmed sightings of Bella again.
14 July: Additional Location around time of 14 July sighting - this time near Hwy 101 and Hwy 85. Bella was seen around the 11th of July chasing geese at a marshy site at the intersection of Hwys 101 and 85. The man was on the freeway and she looked like a black fox.
This predates the 7 Trees sighting and expands our search area. This
area is west of 101 and appears to be part of the new PG&E area. I
have been told that the bike trail goes by there. We really need
posters all along Coyote . I think she is traveling up and down the
creek area between Capitol and Menard - or farther. HINT: Be
sure to let everyone that you speak with know that if they see a dog
that might be Bella to take a picture of it with their cellphones. Bella Spotted Monday July 14th in Orchard Garden Apts off Seven Trees and Capitol Expwy! After further investigation, it appears Bella was seen several times at this gated apartment community. There is a walk-in gate to enable you to walk into the complex.
Some details that you should know:
There is a similar dog in the area. Please ensure that any sightings reported to you clarify:
- Pointy ears on Bella vs. floppy ears
- Ratio of black to tan on the face
- Bushiness of tail
- Request color of any colored tags on the collar
