O R D E R S

Below is a list of the Knightly Orders found in Brimshire. A player can chose to join an Order of Knights at any point, depending on if the Order will have them. Some have stricter policies about who they let join. Becoming a Knight is more about respect than it is any special bonuses to the game, and often their Codes can prove to be more of a burden than a blessing.

Order of the Dragon

"You need not bother asking me to spare your life, but you need not fear, either. I, unlike you, deliver death swiftly and relatively painlessly. Anyone who will not fight by my side is an enemy I must crush. It is nothing less than fate which drives my hand, and you suffer no dishonor in falling to a superior foe."

Description

Dragon Knights believe might makes right. Combat is what they prepare for, battles are what they fight, and death is what they seek to deliver. This does not mean they are bloodthirsty warmongers, but rather have come to accept that war is inevitable and they seek to be the best at performing its function. Members of the Dragon Knight Order do not see actions as good or evil, but rather what is necessary and what is not. Those who believe in "honor" are merely blinded by childish perceptions of the world.

Ranks

Errants are petitioners to the Order. Warriors wishing to be trained by a Dragon Knight, they must seek to prove them selves and attract the attention of a Knight. If a Knight is impressed and wishes to take an Errant on as their Squire, they must seek the approval of their fellow Knights.

Squires are members of the Order who are being tutored under a Knight. In exchange for training in combat, manners and conduct a Squire assists their Knight is the repair and retreival of their equipment as well as study of the Code. There is no set ammount of time, minimum or maximum, a warrior will remain a Squire. It is up to their Knight to denote when they believe the Squire is ready for Knighthood, then the Knight brings this to his fellow members of the Order and they move to vote.

Knights in the Order have shown their knowledge of the Code and proven themselves in combat and conduct. Once a warrior has attained the status of Knight they have earned the ability to earn Blazons of Glory, marks of honor and glory through achievments. Another benefit of becoming a Knight within the Order is the potential to become a Hybrid, a classification revered by the members. To become a Hybrid, a Knight must be granted permission by their fellow Knights and Grandmaster.

The Grandmaster is the head of the Knighthood. Acting as the Orders leader, figure head and spokesman. A Knight who holds this position understands what the Order stands for, and the best way for the Order to go in endevours. The Grandmaster conducts the Knighting ceremony at Council. This status in the Order is voted on by the Knights of the Order, all Knights recieve a vote, the votes are counted out before all members and the out come is announced to the Kingdom during Council. This vote will take place once a season, at the start of each season.
