Our current reef aquarium was born in Houston, TX on January 23rd, 2009 and is the third genertation of reef tanks since getting into the hobby in 2005. This tank was created when our (former) 30 gallon reef simply outgrew the tank that it was in. The progression from the "beginner" end of the hobby torward the "advanced" end also prompted the need for a "better" tank. Much of the work on this tank was accomplished by "DIY" projects, including the steel stand, mahogany cabinet / canopy, as well as much of the filtration equipment.
