So what makes Midnight Mountain Different?
When starting to put together Midnight Mountain I wanted the programing to be diverse and dynamic. I strive to bring in other experts who's work complements the work done with the horses. All facilitators have gone through a workshop here as well. All have been excited about the concrete “in the moment” way horses are able to show people how their behaviors do, or don't allow for success in their lives. Every season I strive for more diversity in the facilitation and themes of the workshops.
Midnight Mountain is proud to be able to “custom design” programs to fit most any need. We are currently working with an area Middle School, creating a “Transition” Program”. They have targeted a group of students who are at higher risk of failure when going to the High School. I brought in Tom Murphy to teach his “clowning around”, added a low ropes course. The group will work with us for three days this spring (school days), and this summer for three days and two overnights. The school will bring in some teachers, so that the students can get their “reading” credits, through a presentation they will present the last day here. Next year we will continue the collaboration with the High School and do a monthly “support” group.
In the past I have been called to put together other programs, they ranged from; college vet tech students, youth in camp who's parents are in jail, young men who are incarcerated living in a house in the community to teaching Leadership to College students. Recently my husband and I are offering couples weekend.
