Recent budget cuts had forced the Town to charge summer event planners upwards of $400 per event to cover Department of Public Works employee overtime pay to open and close the stage. Brewster Productions will now act as contracted operators of the stage, and will open and close it for all events, including the Wednesday Project Arts concerts and the Thursday L. Knife & Sons concerts. This agreement between the Chamber and Brewster Productions will make access to the Showmobile free to all event planners, with the Chamber covering all minimal operating costs. Summer events like Brewster Productions' own School's Out Summer Concert Series are no longer threatened by the inflated costs previously imposed by the Town and DPW. |
