A 'Potted' History of Bretton Group. There has been a Scout Group in Bretton since the early 1970s and following the purchase of a Headquarters building the two existing groups merged to form what is now 56th Peterborough (Bretton) Scout Group. With the demolition of Bretton Woods School in late 2007, Peterborough City Council gave the Group a 25 year lease on a parcel of ground near The Spinney. Since then a lot of work has been carried out by Leaders and parents which has resulted in the building being revamped and rewired, the camping area and indoor/outdoor play facilities have been increased and high security measures have been put into place to protect us from vandalism and improve the safety for our young people.  The Group prides itself on being a part of the Bretton Community Please be patient we are in the process of building this site in the hope that it will be useful to parents, Scouts and the community.  |
