Yokeina-yaki

Yokeina-yaki(余計な焼き Japanese for Superfluous wares) sets out to survey the various pottery-styles practised in Japan today. Professional potters are given the commission to make new pieces. This series exemplifies the aesthetic viewpoint which comes from an admiration for things natural, imperfect, or unrefined.

(The body is made of an original blend of clay and glaze, the markings are made with Tenmoku glaze, rich in iron.)
