A series of 12 works made in cooperation with WL |
Delft Hydraulics using the sophisticated softwaremodel SWAN which can
simulate the effect of waves on any given
coast or structure that exists nearshore. The
artworks show the distribution of the wave heights for 12 different
weather conditions, applied in a hypothetical situation at the Dutch
North Sea coast. The
square composition covers a domain of 10 by 10 kilometre. The bottom of
the square is aligned with the coastline, with the location of the pier
of Scheveningen in the middle. The black elements have been modelled as
'under water obstacles'. The bottom topography is also being accounted
for.
