Here are my dogs - some live with me, others are elsewhere, but will always live in my heart. Check out the slideshow I made of all of the dogs' lives, mostly from up at the lake over the past 4 years.
| Cimmaron's Oklahoma Opus One was born on May 10, 2000 in New Castle, PA. From a very early age, he loved music - coming to choir rehearsals, services, or just laying at the organ bench (as a pup, his dad was working on his Masters in Organ). Opus has an outstanding temperment and charming personality - ready to play whenever you want, but content just to spend time with you. He suffers from systemic lupus (hence the spotted nose), but never lets that get him down. Opus enjoys being the perfect role model for his little sister, Cadence.
Campbell's Perfect Authentic Cadence was born on March 21, 2006 in Wampum, PA. Training for Cadence has been a breeze thusfar, as she simply DOES what her big brother, Opus, does. She willingly goes into her crate, and is surprisingly very obedient and intelligent for her young age. Cadence got to experience the lakehouse on Lake Erie at a ripe 10 weeks of age, and still took to the water like all labs do. Even though her puppy teeth are now gone, she still loves her favorite chew toy - Opus!
Coda is currently a working dog for Leader Dog for the Blind. I had Coda in my life for a little more than a year as his puppy raiser for Leader Dog. It was a unique experience to be able to take Coda everywhere in public, as he was "working". He proved to be an ultra-exceptional dog when I returned him to Leader Dog in October 2005, that in just five short months of advanced training, he was placed with Fernando Acevedo of Spain. Coda is a magical soul, and even though Opus and I miss him very much, I am sure he is making a world of difference for his new family. Godspeed, Coda!
Bailey was born on December 24, 1997. While he wasn't actually my dog, he might as well have been. He was Opus's next door
neighbor for a year, and then roomates (yes, he was my roomate's
dog). More than any lab that I have ever seen, Bailey LIVED in
the water. I regret to say that Bailey passed away in March of 2009 by having a sudden stroke, and died in my arms at home with Cadence and Opus. I had him cremated, and his ashes were scattered on the beach of Van Buren Point, NY, as shown in this picture. RIP, Bailey. |
