In grade 9-12 next year? Interested in participating in Marching Band? The Marching Intent Form is at the bottom of the page. Please complete and return asap. Home Games Students will remain after school for rehearsal on the lower field. We have a Hamburger Supper at 5:15 pm in the gym. Burgers are provided by the Methodist Men from First United Methodist Church, Bremen. Following the meal, students will dress into uniform. Warm up time is next, then the band marches into the stadium. Game time is 7:30 pm. The band sits together and plays stand tunes during the first and second quarter. During half time the band performs after the visiting band. Band Students allowed, during third quarter, to visit the concession stand. They are to be back in place at 2 minutes before the third quarter ends, and remain together throughout the remainder of the game. The Band is usually the last group to leave the stands. They march to the Band Room and put away their instruments and uniforms. Mr. Able will dismiss the students. Away Games Depending on the game location, the band will leave in time to arrive at the school by 6:30 pm. This may occasionally require leaving before the school day is over. The trip will include a stop for supper at fast-food restaurants or a mall, where they will eat in the food court. We travel on 2 school buses, and have 2 equipment trailers which also travel to the game. Students will be assigned a bus to ride. This assignment remains in place throughout the season. Students are not allowed to swap buses. Upon arrival the students will unload the trailers and change into uniform. Warm up will follow, then march into the stadium. The band will sit together in a designated area. ****************************************************************************************************************************  IMPORTANT! Parents, we ask that you park in the student parking lot across the street from the BHS Band Room when picking up your child from an away game. Two band buses and 2 equipment trailers must enter the parking lot to unload when the band returns. A lot of space is needed, and there's a lot of foot traffic. So...for safety AND in order to leave campus sooner, PLEASE park across the street. Marching Band is a lot of work, and it's a lot of fun, too! Be involved with your child's band. Come to the games and competitions! Your help and support are needed. |
