Team BIO

Created out of the love of playing with legos and the desire to share our ideas with others. We are a group of young people learning by building and interacting with our enviroment. We all have our own specialty that increases the overall team performance. We dont always agree but make decisions with the team in mind so we can move forward.

Accomplishments

Before Team Brainstorm existed, we were just a bunch of kids who loved to build and create with Legos on our own, but  First Lego League has provided us with the opportunity to develop new skills as a team in a real world, competitive setting – and have a lot of fun at the same time!

Turning a group of individuals into a strong team has proved to be a worthwhile challenge.  We have had to learn how to work through our differences, overcome setbacks, solve problems, and develop the skills necessary to clearly and effectively communicate  our ideas and solutions to members of our community.  Many hours go into preparing our robots and research presentations, but with each competition we gain knowledge and experience.  We placed second in Tennessee in 2010, but this year we plan to walk away with the first place trophy.  Go Team Brainstorm!

2010 was another great year for Team Brainstorm of Rutherford County, TN.
At the state competition in Cookville, we placed second in robot performance and won second over all.  We are particularly proud of our research presentation which the judges awarded a perfect score.  Through our comprehensive project on health and the human body, we learned about the negative impact obesity has on individuals and society, and the importance of education, compassion, prevention, nutrition, and exercise, and we were able to share what we learned with others on several occasions.  We especially enjoyed getting to meet and interview members of our community who work in so many different areas of the health field including a nurse, a fitness expert, an educator and author,  and even a hypnotherapist.
