Quick Fixes for Internet Service

Quick Fix #1:  Repair Internet Connection

Quick Fix #2:  Reboot Computer


There are 3 different ways to reboot, or restart a computer.

1. Press the Ctrl,Alt,Del buttons same time and Task manager will open - users - select the user - disconnect.  Some operating systems have a system shutdown option.  Choose to shutdown.
2. Press the reset button or press the power button on the cpu to restart the comp immediately.
3.Start-Shutdown-Restart.

Restarting a computer is usually the easiest and most common way to fix connection, and other problems associated with a computer.


Quick Fix #3:  Reboot Router


With your computer powered off, unplug your router, then wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in again. that's all there is to it.  After the router has powered up, usually another 30 seconds, turn computer on.

Please note:  If connection to the Internet is still not restored, press and hold the little button on the back of the router for 15 seconds.  This will reboot the router back to the manufacturer's settings erasing all data (username, password, SSID's, etc.) and all other router-related settings that have been configured.


Quick Fix #4:  Reboot Cable Modem

 
With your computer and/or router powered off, unplug your modem, then wait 15 seconds and plug it back in again.  Wait up to 5 minutes for the modem to sync up with the GateHouse network, power on router, wait 30 seconds, and lastly power up                               computer.
