This Summer Institute is for you and/or your school team if: · You would like to use more performance assessments · You want to learn more about using the Common Core State Standards in ELA · You use school- or grade-wide literacy or interdisciplinary projects · You are interested in common writing rubrics, common writing benchmarks, or vertical alignment in your department or school · You want to teach more 21st century, college-and career-ready skills and allow students to demonstrate mastery of rigorous standards
During the 4-day Institute, you and/or your school team will: · Build a common understanding of the purposes and uses of performance assessment · Develop an understanding of the QPA curriculum-embedded common writing and presentation tasks, rubrics, and how to use them · Collaboratively score student work and explore what it means to make data-driven instructional decisions with performance assessments of high technical quality · Plan for implementing curriculum-embedded Common Core aligned performance assessment in your school or district

Participants will have the opportunity to earn 3 graduate level credits through Endicott College. Participants taking the QPA Institute for college credit will be required to pay an additional fee to Endicott of $50.00 per credit. Registration and payment for the credit option will take place on the first day of the Institute. Additional follow-up assignments will be required after the QPA Institute. Professional Development Points (PDPs) will be offered at no additional charge.
