The National Center for the Improvement of Educational Assessment (Center for Assessment) has been providing support to QPA in the areas of project design and technical quality of performance assessment development and implementation since fall 2009. Karin Hess, Senior Associate Dr. Hess is a recognized national leader in developing practical approaches for designing and using learning progressions as a foundation for formative, interim, and performance assessments. She has distinguished herself as a content and curriculum and assessment expert in multiple content areas. Dr. Hess’s experiences in schools enable her to understand the practical implications of her work while maintaining fidelity to guiding research and best practices. Charles DePascale, Senior Associate For over 20 years, Dr. DePascale has worked as a psychometrician in settings ranging from the MA Department of Education to test development organizations. He is an expert on standards-based assessment and accountability systems. Scott Marion, Associate Director Dr. Marion is a recognized national leader in designing valid statewide assessment and accountability systems. Prior to joining the Center for Assessment, Dr. Marion was the Director of Assessment and Accountability for the Wyoming Department of Education and was responsible for overseeing the Wyoming Comprehensive Assessment System and designing the technical and policy structures to implement the Body of Evidence assessment system, a multiple-measures, locally-created collection evidence used to determine whether high school students met the state graduation requirements. |
