9-YEAR REUNION SHOW
In March 2009, Brett and Kevin became BFF, again. In doing so, a reunion show was in order. Brandon jumped on board like fly on poop and the awesome threesome were back. After a discussion amongst ourselves, The Blank Club in San Jose, California was decided as the
venue of choice. San Jose was the easy choice because this is where we got our start. Now, back when we played shows every weekend, a 21+
venue would not have been the ideal location. Our fan base was mostly
under 21 and could fill a teen center. Of course, our fans got older
and could finally drink...legally. The Blank Club also offered the best
sound system in town. July 18 was set as the date, and we began to
practice. Well, kind of.
Brett lived in Portland and Kevin and Brandon were spread around the bay area. We weren't exactly within walking distance. It looked like we would have to play by ourselves (no pun intended) and then come together in a few weeks or months. So, we dusted off the old BKG vinyl, plopped 'em on the record player, threw on the headphones, and remembered what the heck we created so beautifully, or haphazardly, however you want to look at it.
After a month or so of each of us learning our parts of the songs, we came together at Mark's House on April 9 for our first practice since September 2000. The practice was warm, filled with laughter, and full of screw up after screw up on every song. Of course, the rum didn't help us out, but it tasted so good when it went down. You can view a few videos of the practice on YouTube.
The next time we got together was four days before the reunion show.
