Chipper Boulas Chipper is Managing Director of Boulas Ventures, focused on shaping the next generation of innovation and value creation in the internet and mobile spaces, and is currently based in Paris, France. He leverages deep expertise in “web 2.0” and in next generation mobile services and infrastructure. Throughout his career Chipper has demonstrated a special knack for seeing disruptive opportunities early and has a history of developing and executing robust strategies that have built globally successful businesses. As VP Corporate Strategy for eBay in Silicon Valley, he was instrumental in building new growth opportunities both for existing businesses - eg by developing the first mobile strategy for the group - and via acquisition, in particular of shopping.com and Skype. Prior to eBay, Chipper was a partner with management consultants McKinsey & Co in Asia, where he co-founded and co-led their global Mobile Multimedia practice, building it from scratch to over 200 professionals. He also previously served as a partner with Booz&Co, and started his career as a telecoms R&D engineer for Rockwell Int'l. Chipper has extensive global expertise, having worked for 8 years in Asia, 8 years in Europe, and the rest in the USA. Chipper received an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, an advanced degree in pure Mathematics from the University of Cambridge in England, and an A.B. degree in Physics from Harvard College. |
