Cancelled due to weather! Our demo on Saturday was postponed until Sunday
Who let the dogs out?! While we train for agility, obedience and basic manners, sometimes dogs just gotta be dogs. Starting in September BRAT will have a monthly group hike day. Every month someone from the group can pick their favorite dog friendly trail. Preferably with less human foot traffic. Airline trails are not good because of too many people and bicycles. Dog and people friendly dogs are welcome Dogs should be able to run off leash Dogs must have adequate identification tags with phone numbers on them (not just rabies tags) Dogs must be vaccinated for Rabies Humans should bring treats for recalls Humans should bring leashes for before and after their hike Humans should prepare for bugs and weather. There will not be a rain date unless it is torrential rain, sleet, hail or thunderstorms. We will start out with a little obedience before the run at our meeting place. This may only take 5 or 10 minutes to ensure we don't have explosive, crazy dogs coming out of their vehicles. Once we reach our trail, all dogs will be let off leash and allowed to run at will. We will practice our recalls along the hike as well. First hiking date: Sunday September 7 meeting at 9am at Devils Hopyard in Salem, CT. Hike will commence at 9:20 to ensure everyone has arrived. Devil's Hopyard is located off rte 82 in Salem. Please email me if you need directions. |
