Newstead 2009

Courtyard 2.00pm Sunday 25th. About 45 minutes.
'Lilliput', 5.30 pm Sunday 25th. About 35 minutes

For courtyard:
Here is a list of 30 or so tunes in order for Newstead. The first 4 or 5 tunes are easy. Thereafter I tried to mix slow and fast, easier and harder, whilst making sure no-one sat out many tunes in a row. I also tried to get a mix of tune origin, but our original roots in Klezmer/Israeli show pretty strongly still. We will be lucky to get past 10 on the list.  If we have minimal break between numbers we might get to 7.40 am..... you know what I mean. But, the aim is to attract new musicians. So we have to leave some time for a spiel about us at the end. And perhaps we can indicate that we will keep playing a few more tunes somewhere else around newstead.

For Liliput:
Sounds more like a concert. You know my thoughts.
Suggested list of the more likely 'crowd pleasers'. I think only one of these is 'sans-clarinet'. Includes a few we won't get to in teh first play.
Makedonsk Oro, Ural Rowan tree, Volga-Bulgar , Tish Nigun, Kolomeyke, Zemer , Gloomy Sunday (7.40 am)

I suggest that we order tune books to match this, or print out a new book just of these tunes.
Tune book (In order of play, with notes about repeats etc)
