Kastlemaine Klezmer Kollective?
Also known as the "Castlemaine Klezmer Collective" by those with too much taste and too little humour.
Not just Klezmer
You too?
Anyone interested in playing Klezmer, Russian, Balkan, Romany, Southern Slav and Skandinavian music is welcome to come along and try us out (and vice-versa). The
place to start is with the tunes list on the left menu. There you will
find notation for over a hundred tunes. Don't be overwhelmed. Start
with the tunes klassified as standard. We play many of these at our
gatherings. We also play a selection of the 'learning' tunes, according
to who is there on the night. Generally we choose to learn a tune
because someone already knows it and is willing to lead the rest of us.
Most nights one or more new tunes pop up as well. When and where?
