Kastlemaine Klezmer Kollective?
Also known as the "Castlemaine Klezmer Collective" by those with too much taste and too little humour
Not just Klezmer
We play a mix of klezmer, balkan, baltik, eastern European and Skandinavian musik. The place to start is with the tunes list on the left menu. Start with the tunes klassified as standard. We generally play each of these at our meetings. We also play a selection of the 'learning' tunes, according to who is there on the night. Generally we choose to learn a tune because someone already knows it and is willing to lead the rest of us. Most nights one or more new tunes pop up as well.
You too?
Anyone interested in playing Klezmer, Russian, Balkan and Skandinavian music is welcome to join in. We generally meet between 6.30 and 7.00pm on Thursday nights in Kastlemaine and sometimes in Bendigo.
