Rob had worked primarily in manufacturing operations management. While he was quite accomplished, it was quite obvious that manufacturing was gradually moving outside the U.S and local employment opportunities were declining. He decided to pass up employment opportunities that would require moving, so that he would not disrupt life for his children and could grow up with them. Mission 1 accomplished, the kids are successfully launched. His empty nest is too large and a financial drain. While employed, he saw the long term decline in manufacturing, and obtained an Executive Master's in Business from a prestigious University. He did this just to learn, because he enjoyed the peer group and to prepare for a future career change. He also started a for profit youth sports business(with a break even goal), started a local site for another non profit youth sports organization, volunteered at a local community garden. He teaches a few classes in the evenings to international students in New Product Development and Global Logistics.
