Introduction
Welcome to our WebQuest on three American historical figures: Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony and Mary McLeod Bethune. In this WebQuest you will find many interesting facts about these individuals, as you travel back in time to explore the impact that they had on our nation's history and present day life.
Task
Third grade time travelers will travel back in time, using resources on the Internet, to examine the beliefs and ideals of one of these historical figures, and explain why they made the choices they did.

Evaluation
Third grade time travelers will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Created two additional questions about historical figure.
- Developed appropriate key terms and phrases to keep in mind for search.
- Completed all questions about historical figure in Time Traveler Log.
- Asked questions when help was needed.
- Displayed good behavior during research process.
Conclusion
This WebQuest should enhance the basic understanding and skill level of third graders for using Internet as an important research tool. In accordance with Georgia academic standards, students should understand that individuals, groups, and institutions have an effect on society whether intentional or not by learning about the contribution to the rights and freedoms in a democracy provided to us by Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony and Mary McLeod Bethune.
