Background: Sarah used the UCSC Farm handbook as her guide for planting when she started the Life Lab Garden and now, after four years, her observations in the garden have contributed to the Life Lab planting wisdom you see here. We are lucky to have the UCSC resource as a guide because they are located just down the street, but even a few miles can have a dramatic impact on growing conditions.
