Bonny's Biography

 

Bonny started her riding career at age 4 and was introduced to Dressage at age 13.  She rode with Dr. O.B. Bode for 6 years.  Her first trip to Germany was in 1974 to Herr von  Neindorf’s riding School, where she spent 6 months. She has competed Nationally and Internationally with the following impressive dressage career:

1978:  Purchased “Satchmo” in Germany and started to train with Mr.George Theodorescu.
1980:  Became a member of the Canadian team and competed in the alternate Olympics in Goodwood England and then returned home with Satchmo.
1981:  Returned to Germany to train with Johan Hinnemann in preparation for the Worlds.
1982:  Competed in the world Championships in Lausanne Switzerland – placing 12th.
1983:  Back to Germany with Satchmo to prepare for the Olympics.
1984:  Competed in L.A. Olympic Games – Won the Canadian Grand Prix championship.
 Falstaff “Fred” was the new addition to the family
1986:  Competed in the world Championships in Toronto in the small Tour receiving a team silver medal.
1987:  Bonny's son Billy was born and traveled with her across the country and back to Germany to train with Hinnemann. She then put competing on hold when her son started school.
And Now:  Bonny has been involved in training and teaching and giving clinics since then. In 2003, she started showing again with “Ricky”.  In 2004, Pikardi was purchased by Bonny and co-owners Jean and Bruce Bell. Over the years they have moved 
successfully up the  levels reaching Grand prix in 2009.

Bonny is looking ahead to the 2010 World Equestrian Games, with 
travels that will involve California in the early Winter to train 
with The new Canadian coach, Robert Dover and prepare for the up 
coming qualifiers.
