Hi all, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for supporting our fundraising event for Bonny. For those of you who couldn't attend - I'll tell you - it was a fantastic party. Bob and Deirdre Kozminski were wonderful and welcoming hosts as usual. There was a wide selection of delectables on hand and a glass of wine (or two) to warm us up (which apparently did the trick as you could hear us yappin' 2 blocks away). I think Bonny was overwhelmed by our collective excitement and affection for her as it took a little coaxing to get her to speak. However, once up she settled in to speaking about her favorite topic - Pikardi. She then went on to answer all of our many questions and share her plans and strategy to qualify for the Canadian Dressage Team and represent Canada next September at the World Equestrian Games. Afterwards we were treated to a video review of her history with horses, from when she was 4 years old and riding a pony until today, aboard the beautiful Pikardi. It was an interesting moment as well when the crowd learned that Pikardi is a Manitoba boy. Yup. He was one of Elaine Banfield's first foals when she started her breeding program over 10 years ago. Thanks Elaine for bringing the 'baby pictures'.
So it is onwards and upwards from here. Bonny and Pikardi leave for Florida at the beginning of January for intensive training with Robert Dover and to compete.
