Woodson H. Kelley Co. G, 40th IND. Infantry Chanute Daily Tribune, May 15, 1920 THIRD IN FAMILY TO DIE THIS YEAR Funeral Services of W. H. Kelley at 2:30 o'Clock Tomorrow Afternoon. Woodson H. Kelley died at 1:05 o'clock this morning at the home of his son, C. O. Kelley, in Sunnydale addition, southwest of the city. The funeral services will be held at the C. O. Kelley home at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. They will be conducted by Dr. B. F. Galtmar, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery. Mr. Kelley's death was the third in the family since the first of the year, January 13 his elder son, Edward Kelley, died suddenly of heart trouble. At that time the father was low and it was feared he might not survive. Instead he rallied, but since the death of his wife, Mrs. Elvina Kelley, March 5, he had been quite ill. Mr. Kelley was 89 years old and had been feeble for a year. He was a veteran in the Civil war, fighting for the union in Company G, Fortieth Indiana Infantry. His wife also served the union in the Civil war, being an army nurse in the Cumberland field hospital. They had resided in Chanute many years. Besides the son he is survived by two grandchildren, Bruce Kelley of this city and Mrs. Harry Webb of Thayer. Güldner G 40 ...
