Past Shows

The Boca High Drama Club has a rich history of staging entertaining and quality shows for the enjoyment of Boca High and the entire local community. In recent years, we've performed a play in the fall, and a musical in the spring. Our director, Ms. Clarke, tries her best to keep our seasons fresh with interesting and challenging shows of varying genres. As our audiences and critical recognition grow, we look forward to undertaking even more ambitions projects. We encourage you to take a look at what we've done in the last couple of years - our archives are arranged with our most recent seasons first.

2007-2008
Fall 2007 - Death By Chocolate

A hilarious murder-mystery comedy adventure. The owner of the Meadowbrook Health Resort, Henry Meadowbrook, is killed in cold blood. When the new owner's preparations for the grand re-opening of the Meadowbrook Health Resort are tainted by the suspicious deaths of several staff members, the hunt is on for the mysterious murderer. Hillarity ensues as the resort is turned upside-down by the cheezily overconfident resort manager, John Stone, and a murder-mystery playwright looking for his next plot, Ed Parlor. Undercover cops, midnight prowlers, revolving bookcases, and hidden family connections abound in this ridiculous parody of the entire murder-mystery genre.

Spring 2008 - The Pajama Game
The Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory has a new superintendent, Sid Sorokin, and it doesn't take long for him to fall in love with the beautiful leader of the employee union grievance committee, Babe Williams. But the course of true love never does run smooth when half the couple is union, and the other half is management, especially when their place of employment is divided by the workers' demand for a 7½ cent raise. As workers strike and tensions mount, Babe and Sid are torn apart by the conflict. They're not the only ones having relationship problems, though - paranoid efficiency expert and part-time knife thrower Hines is constantly running after his girlfriend, Gladys, accusing her of cozying up to Sorokin, while union president and all-around-nerd Prez sleazily jumps after anything with a skirt, and earns the ire of nearly half the workforce at the yearly company picnic. Eventually, Sorokin confronts factory owner Myron Hasler with evidence that the boss has already granted the raise, but is taking all the money for himself. Blackmailing him, Sid saves the day, ends the strike, and most importantly gets the girl of his dreams.
